Get to know Elin, one of our Mechanical Engineers here at CellaVision!
As part of our get-to-know series, we're happy to introduce you to Elin Lund, who started at CellaVision 2008 right after her studies. Get to know her a bit better and see what she would tell her 20-year-old self.

How long have you been working at CellaVision and what is your education?
I started here in 2008, and this was my first job. I have a M.S.c in Technical Design.
What does your job involve?
I work with the hardware of our products. We develop both new products and care for the old ones. It’s a very diverse job. For example, I generate concepts, I work with CAD drawings and find suitable components. I write production documentation, build prototypes and test. I also make technical investigations, contact manufacturers and help the Customer Service department with costumer issues that they cannot solve themselves.
What do you like most about your job?
It's that you are a part of everything in the development, from idea to used product. You also get insight in other departments and there is a very close collaboration between departments. I believe I get a great perspective of the whole organization, and that’s fun!
This distinguishes CellaVision from my other workplaces:
This was my first job, so it's hard to compare with something else. But what I think is different from others I often hear from people who come visit is that CellaVision is always in the future. We have not stagnated, we are driven. There are resources and ambitions.
What are three things people don’t know about you?
I push 100 kg in hip lift, I love history, and I have a very neat wardrobe. A great Podcast tip is Historiepodden!
If you could have a dream dinner party, who would sit at your table?
My family, because they live far away. They live in Norrbotten, Dalarna and Västerbotten. We would eat something that my sister had cooked, she’s a great cook.
What do you do for fun?
Hanging out with friends, knitting (I'll soon be done with a cardigan) and reading. One of my favorite authors is Per Olov Enquist, and I mostly read fiction.
What would you tell your 20-year-old self?
Pass your exams right away, don't postpone it and take your degree at once!
Is there a particular person at CellaVision who has helped you in the company? How have they helped?
I was completely unexperienced when I started, so it has obviously been a group effort and people have been very helpful. I've always felt I've been able to ask people and that people are friendly and kind. My colleagues would never make someone feel stupid. It has been an amazing school and I've learned everything I know here.
Do you have any advice for people thinking of applying to work for CellaVision?
It's good if you think it is fun with a certain level of goofing around at work. Generally, for I&E, having some kind of programming knowledge is always good, no matter where you work.
