About the Role

As a senior software engineer in our Applications team, you will develop algorithms and software for our analyzers that automatically locate and pre-classify cells. Working together in the Applications team, you will specialize in programming and digital image processing, used in our software to automatically detect and classify cells and other objects in blood and body fluids. You will contribute to our entire development process, from algorithm development, implementation, code reviews, and documentation, to the creation and execution of tests.

What You’ll Do:

• Act as technical lead and advisor for SW development.
• Develop and maintain Windows desktop applications for lab personnel, using C# and WPF.
• Develop and maintain backend services for coordinating access to databases and connecting labs, using C++ and SQL.
• Develop algorithms within digital imaging using C++, C#, and Python.
• Develop and maintain existing products within Product care.
• Perform troubleshooting and testing as part of the quality work.
• Conduct investigations and research tasks.
• Review designs, reports, and source code contributions from colleagues.
• Participate in cross-functional demos and forums as team representative.
• Mentor more junior colleagues.

About You

You are a passionate and experienced software engineer who thrives in agile environments and enjoys solving complex problems. You value collaboration, take initiative, and are comfortable working independently toward broadly defined outcomes.

Your Experience:

• M.Sc. in Engineering within an appropriate field.
• Extensive experience in programming skills in C++.
• Experience in programming skills in C# or machine learning is a bonus.
• Very good ability to understand the overall architecture and design of large software systems.
• Very good ability to take initiatives and come up with new proposals for working methods as well a strong sense of responsibility.
• Very good at evaluating and solving problems.
• Very good English communication skills, verbal and written.
• Experience in product development involving electronics, mechanics, and software.
